I wouldn't judge/worry to much about the sheet of paper, occasionally the Peppers play songs that they no little of or play just for that particular concert, which I know is what John did in 'How Deep Is Your Love', a cover of the Bee Gees, which he said he learnt on that same day he played it live. Like you said though, crazy drumming, simple song lyrics but it is still awesome!
